What is a Green home?
Green building is an approach to construction that can be applied to the houses we live in. It guides every step of design and construction, from choosing a building site to installing a heating system. Green building is alternately described as “sustainable” building, a more accurate way of looking at it.
Why Green homes?
Green homes are healthier, more comfortable, more durable, more energy efficient, cost less to run and have a much smaller environmental footprint than conventional homes.
Today’s homeowners and homebuilders are increasingly being challenged to build Green. From “certified wood” to “indoor air quality,” green concepts can be confusing – and sometimes overwhelming.
At WaveCrest, we believe a fundamental awareness of key green building terms and concepts helps provide a solid foundation for success in the sustainable design and build industry.
